Ali El-Halwagi, MD, MPH, is a rheumatologist committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to each of his patients. He graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering before relocating to Houston in 2014 to attend Baylor College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree with honors. Driven by a passion for understanding the diverse needs of communities, he also obtained a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas.

Dr. El-Halwagi completed his Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served an additional year as chief resident. During this time, he also worked as a hospitalist at Ben Taub General Hospital and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. He subsequently completed his fellowship training in Rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Throughout his training, Dr. El-Halwagi has received multiple honors, including awards recognizing his humanistic approach to medicine, dedication to teaching both medical learners and patients, and excellence in patient care. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He remains actively involved in the American College of Rheumatology, where he participates in networking, conference planning, and staying current with advancements in the field.

Dr. El-Halwagi is passionate about improving patient outcomes and fostering meaningful, long-term relationships with his patients. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
