Dr. Brian Lam is a board-certified rheumatologist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for patients with a wide spectrum of rheumatic diseases. He completed his rheumatology fellowship and internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center – McGovern Medical School, where he also earned his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Lam holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
With a strong foundation in both clinical medicine and biomedical research, Dr. Lam brings a unique perspective to patient care. His research has focused on autoimmune diseases, scleroderma, cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis, and innovative approaches to osteoporosis screening. He has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at national conferences, including the American College of Rheumatology Convergence.
Dr. Lam is passionate about medical education and has served as a peer tutor and mentor throughout his training. He is committed to advancing the field of rheumatology through ongoing research, quality improvement initiatives, and community outreach. His diverse background includes experience in biomedical engineering, laboratory research, and global health initiatives, reflecting his commitment to holistic and patient-centered care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lam enjoys multicultural home cooking, playing piano, gardening, and exploring new cultures through travel. He is fluent in the latest medical technologies and is dedicated to continually optimizing patient outcomes through innovation and teamwork.
